Extreme unveils global AI-driven partner programme

Wed, 21st Jan 2026

Extreme Networks has launched a new global partner programme, branded Extreme Partner First, with changes to rebates, deal registration, approvals and partner sales tools.

The company said the programme uses a single rebate structure and a unified deal framework across markets. Extreme also set out a target timeframe for certain approvals and introduced AI-based tools aimed at partner sales work.

Partner framework

Extreme said the programme uses one global, SKU- and volume-based rebate model. The company said this structure removes variation between markets and partner tiers. It also said partners earn rebates linked to sales of Extreme Platform ONE, which it describes as an AI-powered networking platform that combines networking, AI and security.

The company also described a unified global framework for deal registration. Extreme said it wants partners to pursue international opportunities under a single model. It said it has introduced international partner identification tools and "system-enforced protection" within its deal process.

Extreme said it has set a 48-hour target approval for Service Level Agreements. The company framed this as part of a wider effort around quicker deal approvals and clearer pricing and benefits.

Deal registration

Extreme said it has redesigned deal registration. The company described the process as modern and globally consistent. It said system controls provide partner protection and establish ownership and credit from registration to close.

Channel programmes often use deal registration to reduce conflict between resellers and to define the partner associated with an opportunity. Extreme's changes place emphasis on consistency across regions and automated enforcement of rules inside the registration system.

Richard Simmons, Director of Network Solutions, Logicalis, said, "When we work with vendors, our goal is to build long-term partnerships grounded in mutual success and, most importantly, the success of our customers. Extreme's new partner program reflects a clear commitment to that same outcome, reducing unnecessary complexity and delivering a more transparent, predictable, and collaborative experience."

AI sales tools

Extreme said it is rolling out an AI-based sales assistant for partners as part of the programme. The company calls the tool the Partner AI Sales Assistant. Extreme said the assistant provides sales information, including product and solution insights, case studies and price sheets.

The company positioned the tool as a way for partners to find information faster during sales cycles. Extreme said this improves speed through the sales process and increases confidence when partners decide where to invest time and effort.

Extreme also set out role-based dashboards and workflow automation as part of the programme. The company said partners will receive personalised dashboards, faster opportunity submissions and approvals, real-time deal visibility, and quicker access to rewards.

Training updates

Extreme said it has updated its training and certification approach for partners. It said partners can earn combined certifications covering installation and troubleshooting. Extreme said it has placed a focus on AI-readiness and use cases within Extreme Platform ONE.

The company framed these changes as part of a broader focus on partner expertise in network deployments that incorporate AI-based features. Extreme did not provide pricing or detail on changes to course structure.

Channel strategy

Extreme described partners as central to its route to market. The company said the programme addresses what it sees as complexity in traditional partner structures. It said partners face rising customer expectations and faster technology shifts.

"Extreme's partners are central to how we win in the market. As partners face accelerating technology shifts and rising customer expectations, partner programs must remove friction, not add to it. With Extreme Partner First, we're redefining the partner experience with a unified global deal model, radically simplified deal registration, and AI-powered automation across the lifecycle. Partners get clarity, speed, and protection-so they can operate more efficiently, invest with confidence, and deliver greater value to their customers while building long-term, profitable growth with Extreme," said Joe Spencer, Senior Vice President of Global Channels and Strategic Initiatives, Extreme Networks.

Extreme said the programme is live as part of its January roll-out. The company said it plans to run the partner experience through a single model across regions, with unified rebates, a global deal framework, and a set of AI and automation tools embedded in partner workflows.
