AlphaSense adds custom AI agents for finance research
AlphaSense has introduced custom AI agents and AI-led expert calls for research and analysis, expanding its market intelligence platform for financial firms and corporate users.
New features also include PowerPoint and Excel integrations, along with due diligence workspaces for private equity and corporate development teams. Users can build repeatable workflows in natural language and schedule them to run automatically for tasks such as earnings analysis, competitive intelligence, and investment research.
The additions come as businesses seek more specialised uses of artificial intelligence in professional workflows. In announcing the launch, AlphaSense cited a forecast that the global vertical AI market could reach $115.4 billion by 2034.
Workflow tools
The custom agent feature builds on AlphaSense's existing set of pre-built workflow tools. Users can create research processes based on specific requirements instead of relying solely on standard templates.
These workflows can be scheduled to deliver outputs without manual intervention, producing regular research materials and analysis for recurring business tasks.
PowerPoint and Excel integrations bring that work into software commonly used by analysts, investors, and corporate teams. The direct integrations let users turn research findings into slide decks and financial models from within those applications.
Expert calls
Another addition is an AI interview agent for expert calls. Users can set research objectives, choose experts, and have the system conduct the call, produce a transcript, and return a summary of key points.
The feature draws on content from Tegus, the expert network business AlphaSense acquired, and uses compliance protocols designed to reduce the risk of mishandling material non-public information. AlphaSense describes the AI system as a neutral intermediary between customers and experts.
Its library includes more than 250,000 expert interview transcripts as part of a wider content base of more than 500 million business documents. That broader data set includes research, earnings calls, company filings, news, and internal client content.
Chris Ackerson, Senior Vice President of Product at AlphaSense, outlined the company's view of how customers are using these tools.
"Today's business professionals demand more than AI-enabled research. If you aren't acting on new information in real time, you are falling behind," he said.
"AlphaSense is AI that drives business decisions - a platform that doesn't just answer questions, but synthesizes information and delivers trusted, auditable insights. AlphaSense is automating entire workflows, from research and analysis to generating personalized outputs like models, memos, and presentations, grounded in the highest quality content, technology, and security to ensure confidence in every decision," Ackerson said.
Due diligence
The due diligence workspaces are aimed at deal teams reviewing virtual data rooms and preparing investment committee materials. Users can import large volumes of VDR documents, combine them with internal files, and analyse them in the same environment as AlphaSense's broader market intelligence content.
The setup is intended for M&A work in which teams review company financials, identify risks, and prepare materials for investment decisions. The workspaces are designed to reduce time spent gathering and organising documents.
The launch comes as AI providers try to move beyond question-and-answer tools into systems that can handle longer chains of work with less human input. Financial services, private equity, and corporate strategy teams have become key target markets because of the volume of recurring research and reporting tasks involved.
