Rydoo has launched a Model Context Protocol connector that brings its expense management system into Claude, ChatGPT and other AI tools. The product is available to new and existing customers in more than 130 countries.

The connector lets employees review expenses, check outstanding items, and approve or reject claims through large language model interfaces instead of a separate application. Finance teams can also query company spending in plain language, including by project or trip.

Rydoo is framing the launch around a broader shift in workplace software, as companies try to fold routine business tasks into AI systems that staff already use. The approach is intended to reduce the need for employees and managers to switch between multiple systems for approvals and reporting.

MCP is an open standard designed to connect AI systems with business applications. In Rydoo's case, it acts as a governed connector between its expense platform and external AI tools.

The system includes controls for authentication, consent and user access. Information access is managed through an approval flow intended to keep AI-driven workflows secure and auditable for finance and IT teams.

Rydoo serves more than 1 million users and operates in over 130 countries. Finance departments use its software to manage employee spending, while staff can submit expenses through a mobile app.

Finance workflows

The launch expands the range of tasks that can be handled through conversational AI in corporate finance. Instead of manually reviewing spreadsheets or searching dashboards, finance staff can ask questions about spending patterns through an AI assistant connected to the company's expense data.

This places Rydoo among software providers trying to make back-office systems accessible through mainstream AI interfaces. For finance teams, expense approvals and spending queries are among the repetitive administrative tasks now being recast as conversational prompts.

Rydoo said the connector is aimed at both mid-market and larger organisations. By making the service available to existing and new customers, it can extend the AI link across its installed user base rather than treat it as a separate product line.

Acquisition backdrop

The launch follows Rydoo's acquisition of Nordic fintech Semine, a company focused on accounts payable automation. The deal broadened Rydoo's reach beyond employee expense management into adjacent finance processes.

Rydoo's majority shareholder is Eurazeo, the European private equity group that took a controlling stake in 2024. That backing has supported the company's efforts to broaden its finance software offering.

Sebastien Marchon, Chief Executive Officer at Rydoo, set out the company's view of the launch.

"We're excited to bring Rydoo into Claude and other mainstream AI tools that our customers already rely on every day. Finance teams don't need another tool to log into; they want their existing workflows to get smarter and drive efficiency across the business. Our core principle is that expense management should be easy, and the Rydoo MCP is the next step in building a platform that reduces friction and works the way modern finance teams actually operate. This type of integration also aligns with broader corporate AI strategies. As companies seek to standardise AI usage across their teams, reducing the number of platforms and logins can contribute to more cohesive operations that drive productivity and results."

The launch highlights how software suppliers are increasingly adapting business tools to work inside generative AI platforms rather than requiring staff to learn separate interfaces. In Rydoo's case, the test will be whether finance teams are willing to move sensitive approval and spending tasks into the conversational systems many employees already use every day.
