OpenText & Google launch enterprise AI & sovereign cloud tools

Fri, 21st Nov 2025

OpenText has expanded its partnership with Google to deliver new artificial intelligence (AI), data protection, and sovereign cloud solutions. These will be aimed at enterprise customers in regulated sectors such as finance, insurance, and retail.

Industry applications

The integration of OpenText's technology with Google's Gemini Enterprise and Vertex AI is designed to automate and optimise critical tasks across specific industries. Insurance providers and financial services firms can utilise AI agents for claims processing, fraud detection, and regulatory reporting. Retailers gain enhanced data security as part of the offering, with end-to-end encryption for sensitive information.

The move focuses on practical enterprise adoption of AI, with tools built for established compliance needs. According to OpenText, industry-specific AI agents will address operational efficiency and accuracy for high-value business operations by automating repetitive, compliance-heavy workflows.

"Our partnership with Google Cloud is rooted in co-innovation. Together we're unlocking new possibilities for customers to apply AI in secure, scalable, and industry-specific ways that drive real business outcomes," said Sandy Ono, EVP & Chief Marketing Officer, OpenText.

Enhanced data protection

For the retail industry, a new data security solution combines OpenText's Voltage data privacy platform with Google BigQuery analytics. This initiative provides encryption and protection for data not only at rest and in transit, but also as it is used to train or feed AI models. OpenText said the integration aims to help businesses observe privacy regulations while gaining intelligence from sensitive datasets.

The full cycle of data handling-storage, movement, and processing within AI tools-now carries additional security measures to minimise risk of breaches and unauthorised access.

Sovereign cloud focus

In response to rising requirements for data sovereignty, especially in sectors handling sensitive or regulated information, OpenText has integrated its Private Cloud with Google's Sovereign Cloud solutions. This enables organisations to maintain control over where and how data is stored and processed, supporting compliance with local and international data regulations.

"OpenText's commitment to sovereign cloud and sovereign AI is unwavering. Together with Google Cloud, we're delivering secure, compliant environments that empower customers to innovate with AI on their terms," said Shannon Bell, EVP & Chief Digital Officer, OpenText.

Google said its approach is to find a balance for enterprise clients between leveraging advanced cloud innovation and ensuring strict controls over their digital operations.

"Google Cloud's approach to digital sovereignty balances innovation with control, choice, and security. Through our partnership with OpenText, we're empowering organizations to align their specific business needs, risk profiles, and regulatory requirements," said Sam Sebastian, Vice President, North America Regions, Google Cloud.
