Mphasis unveils quantum tech for cyber defence & optimisation

Thu, 30th Oct 2025

Mphasis has launched two new quantum technology solutions aimed at improving cybersecurity resilience and decision intelligence for large enterprises.

Quantum-safe security

The company has introduced Mphasis qCryptsec, a quantum-safe cryptography solution, to reduce risks associated with cybersecurity threats, ensure regulatory compliance, and mitigate operational disruptions. The solution is designed to support a transition to quantum-ready operations, beginning with a comprehensive assessment and progressing towards establishing robust defences against evolving quantum-era threats.

Mphasis qCryptsec provides organisations with tools to scan and discover cryptographic assets such as algorithms, keys, and certificates across enterprise infrastructure. This process results in a cryptographic inventory, termed the Cryptographic Bill of Materials (CBOM). With this inventory, businesses can identify potentially vulnerable assets and take steps to replace or upgrade them in alignment with post-quantum cryptographic (PQC) standards.

The solution implements a layered defensive approach, combining post-quantum cryptography with secure key transfer mechanisms based on Quantum Key Distribution (QKD). This assists organisations in not only protecting sensitive information but also preparing for faster incident response and compliance with emerging regulatory requirements. Mphasis indicates that these measures contribute to broad enterprise coverage, integration with existing systems, and enhanced visibility across supply chains.

Optimised decision-making

The second newly launched solution, Mphasis QOptiDecision, leverages hybrid quantum-classical and quantum-inspired computing technologies to assist organisations in solving complex optimisation problems. The company notes that this platform targets enterprise challenges such as scheduling, routing, and resource allocation, which often require significant computational resources and affect overall operational efficiency.

Mphasis QOptiDecision uses adaptive parameter tuning and an iterative workflow to achieve high-quality and optimised solutions, maintaining current runtime expectations while improving the accuracy of results. The platform integrates with organisations' existing enterprise decision systems, facilitating adoption without necessitating significant changes to established processes.

According to the company, the QOptiDecision platform has been trialled in various real-world scenarios, including last-mile route optimisation, 3-D bin packing, wealth advisor assignments, airline passenger re-accommodation, and crew scheduling.

"Our early investments in applied quantum research and development have enabled this industry-first milestone in the enterprise adoption of quantum technology. We are very proud of the end-to-end quantum solutions our team has delivered to reduce risk, ensure compliance, and safeguard against evolving threats, while optimising complex enterprise decisions with greater accuracy," said Nitin Rakesh, Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director, Mphasis.

Enterprise transformation

Mphasis is continuing to develop its technology suite by combining quantum computing advancements with artificial intelligence and automation, referred to by the company as an Agentic AI approach. This direction is expected to influence future enterprise operations, with a particular focus on transforming and modernising processes through the integration of multiple advanced technologies.

The solutions announced by Mphasis come as enterprises face growing concern over the potential impact of quantum computing on current cryptographic protections and operational strategies. The capacity for quantum computers to break existing encryption algorithms has prompted many organisations and regulators to begin preparing for quantum-safe transitions ahead of widespread quantum adoption.

Mphasis states that its new offerings give organisations a practical pathway towards quantum readiness, ensuring that enterprise infrastructure is not only protected against future risks but also able to capitalise on opportunities provided by quantum-accelerated optimisation. These capabilities are positioned to address complex, large-scale enterprise challenges while reducing potential vulnerabilities associated with technological change.
