Haiilo has been named a Challenger in Gartner's 2026 Magic Quadrant for employee experience platforms, up from its Niche position a year earlier.

The recognition moves the employee experience software provider into a higher category as it looks to expand beyond its European base and grow its presence in North America. Gartner highlighted the pace of innovation as a particular strength.

Haiilo says its platform brings together internal communications, knowledge and workflows in a single digital workplace to help staff find information faster and spend less time switching between systems.

The group also pointed to its use of AI to turn internal knowledge into searchable, actionable resources for employees. Support for sovereign AI, privacy requirements and EU labour regulations is built into the platform, it added.

That emphasis on governance and regulation stands out as employers face greater scrutiny over workplace technology, data handling and the use of artificial intelligence in employee-facing systems. For software providers in Europe, alignment with regional rules has become a competitive issue as customers weigh compliance alongside usability.

Haiilo also said the Challenger designation reflects recent international progress, citing momentum in North America and stronger positions in the UK, Finland and France.

Market position

Gartner's Magic Quadrant rankings are closely watched in enterprise software markets because they can influence buying decisions and shape how vendors are viewed by customers and investors. A move from Niche to Challenger suggests a supplier has improved its market execution while strengthening its strategic direction.

In Haiilo's case, the shift comes as organisations continue to reassess the mix of tools used for internal communications, knowledge management and employee engagement. Many employers are trying to reduce fragmentation across workplace apps as staff contend with large volumes of information and a growing number of digital channels.

Haiilo said community-led experiences on the platform are another part of its approach, allowing employees to connect through communication, collaboration and knowledge-sharing tools. Bringing conversations, expertise and organisational knowledge together in one place can help create a more connected workforce, according to the company.

Competition in the employee experience software market has intensified as companies seek systems that combine communication tools with access to trusted internal knowledge. That has put pressure on providers to demonstrate not only product development but also a clear approach to AI, data governance and regulation.

Andrew Avanessian, Chief Executive Officer at Haiilo, said: "Being recognised as a Challenger in the 2026 Gartner Magic Quadrant reflects our continued investment in purposeful, customer-centric innovation.

"Employees are bogged down by the sheer amount of digital noise that pulls them away from the work that matters. We're focused on reducing that friction while giving organisations confidence that the information people rely on is accurate, secure and compliant.

"Our goal is straightforward: to make it easy for every employee to find their flow, so that teams can be more productive and engaged. By bringing knowledge, communications and tools together in one place, with practical AI helping employees find what they need, we're making work simpler while keeping people connected and informed."
