Google unveils AI tools for smarter ads & analytics insights
Today, Google announced the rollout of Ads Advisor and Analytics Advisor – new AI agents that are tailor-made for marketers and powered by the latest Gemini models.
AI is transforming every aspect of advertising, and the speed and fragmentation of the modern consumer journey has outpaced human capacity. Google's in-product AI agents act as true, personalized partners, helping Canadian advertisers and businesses show up in the right moments with the right message, while driving greater efficiency when it comes to campaign building, scaling creative, and measurement.
For Canada's fast-evolving digital marketing landscape, these AI-driven innovations come at a crucial time. Canadian small businesses, agencies, and enterprise marketers can now harness these tools to compete more effectively, locally and globally.
Google has launched two new artificial intelligence tools - Ads Advisor and Analytics Advisor - designed to assist marketers in campaign management and data analysis.
Both tools use the latest Gemini AI models and are available to English-language users in Canada on Google Ads and Google Analytics platforms.
Campaign management
Ads Advisor operates within Google Ads to automate complex marketing tasks, generate campaign assets, and provide recommendations to enhance campaign performance.
The tool interacts with advertisers to understand unique business contexts - from a local retailer in Toronto to a national brand running coast-to-coast campaigns - and learns from historical interactions to deliver increasingly tailored advice over time. It supports ongoing campaign optimization by suggesting actions based on user input and implements approved changes.
Common functions include generating new keywords and creative assets for both Search and Performance Max campaigns. Canadian users can ask Ads Advisor questions such as how to optimize campaigns for events like Canada Day promotions or holiday sales, leading the system to provide relevant suggestions like adding sitelink extensions or adjusting creative messaging for regional audiences.
Personalized analysis
Ads Advisor also offers real-time analysis and diagnostic capabilities, allowing Canadian advertisers to request campaign summaries or delve into reasons for shifts in performance.
The system can identify possible issues, suggest corrective actions, and even help address policy disapprovals. For example, it can pinpoint why an ad for a Canadian eCommerce business was rejected and propose compliant alternatives, subject to user approval.
Data insights
Analytics Advisor, available inside Google Analytics, provides a conversational interface to help advertisers access instant, data-driven insights. Canadian marketers can query the system in plain language to obtain overviews or make specific requests, such as reviewing user behaviour from key regions like Ontario, British Columbia, or Quebec.
The tool automatically surfaces relevant reports and visualizations to support decision-making and overall business health assessments.
Analytics Advisor also focuses on performance investigation, allowing users to ask "why" questions about changes in their metrics. The AI then identifies and attributes key drivers behind trends - for instance, spotting a surge in site traffic from a Vancouver influencer campaign or a spike in conversions during a local hockey playoff.
Actionable recommendations
Beyond analytics, Analytics Advisor offers step-by-step recommendations aligned to business goals. After identifying notable trends or events, advertisers can request guidance on strategies to convert or re-engage users. The tool can then suggest prioritized actions tailored to Canadian market conditions, such as regional seasonality or bilingual (English/French) audience dynamics.
Ongoing updates
Both Ads Advisor and Analytics Advisor have been launched as always-on tools for marketers, with the aim of improving efficiency and precision - particularly during periods of heightened campaign activity such as Black Friday in Canada or back-to-school shopping season. Google has indicated that it will continue to expand features in these tools through 2026.
"These AI agents act as partners, learning from an advertiser's unique datasets, landing pages, and real-time performance to help their Google Ads campaigns drive real-world business growth," said Dan Taylor, Vice President, Global Ads, Google.
Ads Advisor and Analytics Advisor are now accessible to all standard Google Ads and Google Analytics 360 English-language accounts in Canada.
