FlightHub launches football flight search & travel hub

Wed, 15th Apr 2026

FlightHub has launched two new online products aimed at travellers and football fans: a football-themed flight search page and a travel content platform called FlightHub Lounge.

The launches reflect its effort to broaden how users discover and plan trips on its website.

The first product, branded "Fly to the Beautiful Game", helps supporters search for flights tied to international football matches in host cities across the United States, Canada and Mexico. Users start by selecting either a national team or a host city, and the site then presents flight options for those destinations.

Host cities featured include Los Angeles, Miami and Dallas in the US; Toronto and Vancouver in Canada; and Mexico City, Guadalajara and Monterrey in Mexico. The page includes departures from 26 major US cities, including Los Angeles, New York, Chicago and Miami.

Travel demand

The feature is aimed at a period of strong travel demand, when fares and seat availability can change quickly. It links team or city selections to flight search results so travellers can compare routes and check different travel dates around match schedules.

FlightHub also shared search trends linked to tournament destinations. Overall searches to popular host destinations have risen 15%, while Monterrey recorded the largest increase at 155%.

Mexican host cities posted the strongest overall search growth at 49%, followed by Canada at 19% and the United States at 12%, according to FlightHub data. The figures point to rising interest across all three host markets.

"Global sporting events create incredible travel demand, but they can also add stress for fans trying to plan trips on a budget," said Ayoub Hissar, Director of Brand Marketing and Communications, FlightHub.

"Fly to the Beautiful Game simplifies that process. The landing page features a visual team and city selection experience, allowing fans to start with the country they support or the city hosting a match, then explore flight options that fit their preferred dates."

Content push

The second launch, FlightHub Lounge, moves the company further into travel media and trip-planning content. The platform combines editorial features, destination guides, interactive tools and direct flight search in one online hub.

It is organised into sections covering emerging destinations, food, accommodation, outdoor travel, nightlife, wellness and different travel styles. Named sections include Trending, Cultural Edit, Good Eats, Check-In Spots, Nature Activities, The Traveller, In the Mix and Mind and Body.

Other features include an interactive map for destination discovery, a "Before You Go" section with planning information, quizzes, and audio and video formats under Lounge Podcast and Lounge TV. These tools are designed to connect travel inspiration with booking.

"Travel inspiration today goes far beyond a list of destinations," said Hissar.

"FlightHub Lounge brings together storytelling, discovery, and practical planning tools in one place, helping travelers move seamlessly from dreaming about a destination to booking the trip."

Company context

Montreal-based FlightHub was founded in 2012 and operates as an online travel agency in North America. It says it helps millions of travellers each year compare flights and itineraries across international destinations.

The two launches reflect a broader push by online travel companies to reach users earlier in the decision-making process, not just when they are ready to book, but while they are still deciding where and when to travel. In FlightHub's case, one product is tied to a major international football event, while the other is designed to keep travellers engaged through destination-focused content and planning tools.

Both products are available on desktop and mobile. The football-focused page uses the company's global flight inventory and real-time pricing data to show current deals.
