ESET celebrates a decade of growth & innovation in Canada
ESET has marked ten years of operating in Canada, highlighting a decade of activity supporting businesses and individuals with cybersecurity solutions across the country.
The company has steadily expanded its presence since 2015, now serving more than 15,000 Canadian businesses. Its Toronto-based sales and marketing operations benefit from collaboration with the ESET Research Centre in Montreal, which contributes to both global and regional threat research and detection efforts.
Bob Bonneau, Country Manager, ESET Canada, commented on the significance of the milestone. He said, "In the last ten years, we have built a world-class operations filled with passionate people who work day in and day out to support our local customers and partners with their pressing cybersecurity needs. The Canadian team is proud to mark this moment – not just as a reflection of how far we've come, but as a launchpad for where we're going. Our presence here has allowed us to deepen relationships with partners, customers, and communities, while helping Canadian organizations thrive with world-class security in an ever-evolving threat landscape."
ESET's Canadian head office is in Markham, a technology hub. The local technology sector and collaborative business environment have been important for ESET's growth and engagement from coast to coast. The company's emphasis on fostering relationships within technology ecosystems has supported its ongoing expansion.
Over the last decade, ESET Canada has prioritised reseller partnerships and focused on sectors such as education, manufacturing, and critical infrastructure. The company has also adjusted and expanded its services to address the country's evolving digital threat landscape.
Company-provided highlights from ESET Canada's journey include increased support and engagement in Western Canada, with the creation of roles dedicated to technology, sales, and customer service. ESET secured a major league sponsorship with the Calgary Flames, opened a Canadian data centre in response to data sovereignty requirements, and relocated to Markham to strengthen ties with local innovation networks.
The company has reported that more than 51 per cent of its Canadian endpoint customers now use cloud-based solutions, exceeding the national average of 48.1 per cent, according to analysis by Mason. In 2025, ESET Canada received its 17th eCN Reseller Choice Award as well as recognition from the Markham Board of Trade for high quality and service. ESET's partner-focused model means that 95 per cent of its revenue is generated through the reseller channel.
Managed Service Provider (MSP) sales have achieved consistent double-digit growth, a result of partner enablement and an increased demand for subscription-based cybersecurity offerings. The company's Managed Detection and Response (MDR) service has also scaled rapidly and is now the fastest-growing service within ESET Canada.
According to Gartner, ESET has maintained a top 8 position in the Endpoint Protection Platform market, and the company points to this stability as significant in a sector where vendor rankings can change rapidly. Customer loyalty metrics are also cited, with ESET reporting a Net Promoter Score (NPS) of 54.
"Establishing a local team in Canada gave us the ability to be more responsive to the needs of Canadian businesses and consumers," added Ryan Grant, Leader of ESET North America. "We've built a strong foundation here, and we're energized for the next decade of innovation and growth."
Beyond its corporate business, ESET states it helps protect households and individuals with digital security for a range of devices. This contribution to cybersecurity extends to award-winning protection for smartphones, laptops, and home networks throughout the country.
Pavol Balaj, Chief Business Officer at ESET, emphasised the relevance of the company's approach for the local market. "ESET's mission to deliver cutting-edge, unobtrusive protection really resonates in Canada," he said. "This anniversary is not only a celebration of the past, but a bold step into the future."
