Direxyon launches AI cloud platform for smarter asset planning
DIREXYON Technologies has introduced DIREXYON GO, a cloud-based platform powered by artificial intelligence, designed to support asset investment planning for municipalities and utilities.
The new platform is intended to address common challenges faced by public sector and utility organisations when managing ageing infrastructure, population growth, and climate risks. DIREXYON GO consolidates asset, maintenance, budget, risk, and geographic information systems (GIS) data into a centralised environment, enabling improved decision-making and long-term planning.
According to the company, the system incorporates an interactive Digital Twin, allowing users to visualise infrastructure assets, test service level objectives, and evaluate the long-term operational and financial effects of various investment strategies. It is designed to replace traditional approaches such as spreadsheets, disparate systems, and external consultancy studies.
"Municipal and utility leaders have told us that they feel like they're making decisions in the dark," said Didem Cataloglu, Chief Executive Officer of DIREXYON Technologies. "GO eliminates the guesswork by cleaning up your data and putting everything in one place, so you can focus on making decisions instead of hunting for information."
The company explained that DIREXYON GO's AI capabilities help identify and correct data gaps or inconsistencies. Through a selection of pre-configured analysis templates, users can analyse and compare different budget allocations, test service targets, and justify choices to both leadership and the public with simplified visualisations.
Public sector and utility entities in North America are reportedly facing mounting pressure to sustain service delivery against a backdrop of decades-old infrastructure and intensifying climate challenges. Simultaneously, funding constraints and the need to balance immediate repairs with long-term investments in resilience and sustainability remain significant concerns. DIREXYON GO aims to provide a dynamic and continually updated picture of assets and investment strategies to address these pressures.
Scenario analysis
With DIREXYON GO, municipal decision-makers can, for example, examine the outcomes of their current road maintenance budgets over a 20-year horizon or test the implications of altering funding levels without needing to create new models from scratch. The platform automatically handles the structuring of inputs, execution of simulations, and quantification of long-term investment effects.
For utility operators, particularly those dealing with specific risks such as wildfires, the system facilitates modelling the implications of investing in preventive actions - such as vegetation management or grid modifications - versus bearing the costs associated with future emergency responses. Such templated methodologies are intended to streamline the process of asking relevant strategic questions, evaluating long-term effects, and tailoring the analysis to local circumstances.
Options for organisations
While DIREXYON GO targets those seeking a faster adoption path, the company also continues to offer DIREXYON Enterprise, its original asset investment planning solution. Enterprise is designed for organisations with more complex needs, providing full configurability, the ability to simulate unlimited scenarios, and support for large-scale infrastructure modelling. This level of flexibility is meant to help organisations balance budget limitations, resilience goals, and community requirements.
DIREXYON Technologies stated that the introduction of DIREXYON GO is a response to industry demand for simplified, unified, and transparent asset management solutions that enable better communication of decisions both within organisations and with external stakeholders.
