Digitail raises USD $23 million to boost AI for veterinary clinics
Digitail, a provider of cloud-based, AI-powered software for veterinary clinics, has secured USD $23 million in Series B funding. The round was led by Five Elms Capital and included participation from existing investors Atomico, Partech, Byfounders, and Gradient. This brings Digitail's total investment to more than USD $37 million and is expected to accelerate the company's expansion and product development within the veterinary sector.
Growth and vision
Digitail was established in 2018 by Sebastian Gabor and Ruxandra Pui. The company aims to support veterinary professionals with modern tools designed to streamline the day-to-day running of clinics. Its unified platform enables veterinary teams to spend less time on administrative work and more time caring for patients.
"Veterinary professionals are the backbone of pet care, yet they've long been underserved by disconnected, outdated tools. Our goal is to build the most comprehensive AI-native operating system to power the entire clinic, helping veterinary teams spend less time behind screens, see more patients, and get home on time. Partnering with Five Elms Capital gives us the resources and expertise to scale innovation and elevate every part of the customer experience," said Sebastian Gabor, Founder & CEO, Digitail.
Platform capabilities
The Digitail system covers several key administrative areas for veterinary practices, including scheduling, medical records management, invoicing, inventory management, client communication, wellness plan coordination, and access to a pet-parent application. The platform incorporates over 15 artificial intelligence-driven workflows such as patient intake automation, AI dictation for clinical notes, and automated medical record summarisation. These features are intended to help clinics reduce paperwork, minimise errors, and improve operational efficiency from a single login.
According to the company, Digitail supports more than 10,000 veterinarians and 3 million pet parents across various practice settings, including independent clinics, multi-site veterinary groups, and mobile service providers. Over the past year, the company has more than doubled its customer base.
Investor support
Five Elms Capital, the lead investor in the round, highlighted Digitail's approach to simplifying workflows for veterinary teams. Reed Edwards, Principal at Five Elms Capital, commented:
"From our first conversations with the Digitail team, it was clear we shared a belief that great software should empower people, not create more work. Digitail's technology does exactly that for veterinarians and pet owners alike. We're proud to back a team that's redefining what's possible in veterinary care and to help them accelerate their mission of giving every clinic the tools to deliver exceptional care at scale."
Expansion plans
The new round of investment will be used to further develop Digitail's product, expand its AI capabilities, and support international growth. The company plans to invest in operations and infrastructure to meet the needs of a wider customer base and enhance the overall user experience.
Digitail states that its software can help veterinary teams see up to twice as many patients per day and save more than 50 hours per month by automating routine administration.
The growth in the company's customer numbers and the additional capital will support its aim to further streamline veterinary workflows and drive adoption of digital management tools in animal healthcare.
