Dayforce launches agentic HCM platform with native AI
Sun, 1st Nov 2026 (Today)
Dayforce has launched its Agentic HCM Platform, adding native AI across its human capital management system.
The launch marks a broader overhaul of the Dayforce platform, with new tools for recruiting, workforce management, payroll, planning and HR administration, alongside a new set of AI-driven services.
At the centre of the platform is what Dayforce describes as a single foundation for identity, permissions, privacy, security, approvals and auditability. These controls are intended to govern a shift from AI systems that answer questions to systems that can carry out tasks.
Dayforce has built the offer around several components: Ask Dayforce, a conversational interface that runs across the platform; Dayforce AI Agents, a portfolio of specialised tools designed to handle multi-step work; and Dayforce Bots, which customers can create to automate recurring or event-driven processes.
It also introduced Dayforce Build, which lets users create apps, bots and documents in plain language without coding. Dayforce Marketplace will serve as a distribution channel for pre-built apps and bots from Dayforce, partners and customers, while Dayforce Build Academy is intended to provide training and certification for users who want to publish those tools.
Another part of the update focuses on integration with third-party systems. The software will be available through channels such as instant messaging tools and SMS, while plugins and connectors will allow Dayforce data and actions to work with external AI assistants and business systems, including through expanded partnerships with Microsoft and Anthropic's Claude.
Implementation is also part of the announcement. Dayforce Deploy is a new AI-based implementation workspace that links requirements, configuration and testing, with the aim of reducing manual work and identifying issues earlier in deployment projects.
Alongside the platform changes, Dayforce outlined updates across its business software. In talent management, it is releasing a new recruiting product that combines customer relationship management, high-volume workflows, contingent staffing coordination and AI agents. Ribbon AI technology will be integrated into that experience to add sourcing, rediscovery, voice and video interviews, and candidate insights.
The workforce management and pay side of the business is also being updated. Dayforce Command Centre for Frontline Operations is designed to give managers a single view across recruiting, onboarding, scheduling and time, while new scheduling and manager time tools are intended to help address coverage and exceptions across teams and sites. Dayforce is also adding contingent workforce management features for supplier oversight, labour rates, approvals, invoicing and supplier performance, as well as a redesigned payroll experience for teams running Dayforce Payroll across countries.
For workforce planning, the platform now includes scenario modelling for skills, capacity, structure and costs across both employees and AI agents. In HR administration, a new Forms Agent is intended to guide employees to the correct forms and workflows through a conversational interface while maintaining existing business rules and approvals.
David Ossip, Chief Executive Officer and Founder of Dayforce, said the company sees the launch as part of a larger shift in how work is organised around AI.
“AI is rewriting work life - and Dayforce is determined to make sure it's rewritten for the better. That has been our promise since day one, and this next era of Dayforce delivers on it like never before,” said David Ossip, Chief Executive Officer and Founder of Dayforce.
He added: “Dayforce's natively built AI is the foundation of our Agentic HCM Platform - it understands your people, your data, and how your business works. No one else brings those capabilities together on a foundation like this, giving customers a significant advantage over bolt-on technologies as they put AI to work across their organisations.”
The launch comes as software providers across HR and enterprise applications push beyond chatbot-style interfaces towards systems that can complete more operational tasks. That shift has placed greater focus on governance, auditability and the level of control employers retain over how automated actions are triggered and approved.
Stacey Harris, Chief Research Officer and Managing Partner at Sapient Insights Group, said the practical value of AI tools would depend on whether they helped employees work together more effectively.
“In a market crowded with talk of agents and AI tools, what matters is whether the technology helps people to work in more practical, collaborative ways,” said Stacey Harris, Chief Research Officer and Managing Partner at Sapient Insights Group.
She added: “What stands out to me about Dayforce's Agentic HCM Platform is the combination of a trusted foundation with novel ways to help people better collaborate with each other and with AI. Dayforce Build provides the ability to create interactive applications and different ways of working with data, rather than simply getting answers through chat. The Marketplace concept is particularly interesting because it creates the opportunity for teams to discover, share and reuse what others have built. No one in HR works alone, and they don't want to work alone.”
