ControlUp has launched ControlUp for MSPs, a new multi-tenant platform and partner programme aimed at managed service providers.
The company said the offering combines a multi-tenant console with automation, real-time visibility and licensing options designed for MSP business models. ControlUp also outlined sales and marketing support as part of the partner programme.
ControlUp positions the product within digital employee experience management. The company said the platform targets endpoint and workspace operations across physical devices and virtual environments.
"This new offering is about helping MSPs turn market pressure into opportunity," said Julia Scully, Head of Global Channel Sales, ControlUp. "ControlUp for MSPs gives our partners a practical way to deliver modern autonomous IT management services that improve customer experience, simplify operations, and unlock new recurring revenue, all seamlessly integrated with the tools that they already rely on."
Multi-tenant console
ControlUp said the centrepiece of the release is a tenant manager feature. It acts as a multi-tenant console for MSPs and presents a single view of multiple customer environments.
ControlUp said the console spans physical devices, VDI, DaaS and cloud workspaces. The company said MSP teams can drill down into individual tenants and troubleshoot issues in real time. ControlUp also said the design supports standardised onboarding and operational processes across customers.
The company said ControlUp for MSPs includes guided tenant onboarding and best practice templates. ControlUp said these templates establish repeatable configuration across new environments. The company also said it expects this approach to cut ramp-up time for new customers and for new engineers joining support teams.
Licensing changes
ControlUp also introduced licence pooling and reallocation for MSPs. The company said this approach differs from tenant-specific assignment, with service providers drawing from a shared pool.
ControlUp said MSPs can shift capacity between customers as needs change. The company tied this to faster onboarding and simplified licence administration.
Monitoring and automation
ControlUp said the platform provides real-time visibility across endpoints, applications, networks and virtual desktops. The company said MSPs can use diagnostics to identify bottlenecks and reduce mean time to resolution.
ControlUp said automation forms a core part of the offer. It listed proactive remediation and alerting for common issues. It also cited workflow automation and virtual expert guidance for front-line support teams. ControlUp also said some end users can resolve frequent issues through the guidance tools.
The company described this as a "shift left" approach to IT support. ControlUp said this reduces ticket volumes and frees senior engineers for other work.
ControlUp said the platform includes remote management and control features. The company said MSPs can diagnose and resolve problems on managed and unmanaged devices. It also listed patching, vulnerability assessment and drift prevention among security and compliance-related functions.
Service packaging
ControlUp said the product supports MSPs that want to add experience reporting to managed service contracts. The company said DEX scoring and KPIs allow MSPs to introduce experience level agreements, alongside existing reporting that often focuses on infrastructure uptime.
The company also highlighted device lifecycle management, using real-time and historical data. ControlUp said this data can inform hardware refresh decisions and reduce emergency replacements.
ControlUp said the platform includes software asset insights. It said these can identify unused licences and underutilised resources. The company said this can feed into client cost reviews and value reporting.
ControlUp also described compliance reporting and sustainability reporting. It said compliance reports can map to CIS benchmarks and other standards. It said sustainability reporting covers device energy consumption and carbon footprint.
Tool integrations
ControlUp said ControlUp for MSPs works alongside existing MSP toolsets. It cited integrations with IT service management platforms such as ServiceNow and Freshworks. ControlUp said these integrations pass alerts and insights into established ticketing and workflow processes.
The company also referenced endpoint management and workspace products. It listed Microsoft Intune, Jamf, Azure Virtual Desktop and Windows 365.
Partner programme
ControlUp said the technology release comes with a dedicated MSP partner programme. The company said it includes MSP-specific licensing and pricing, with tiered and multi-year options.
ControlUp said partners will receive access to ControlUp Academy training, technical enablement and sales tools aligned to MSP use cases. It also outlined marketing support, including co-branded content, campaign assets and access to ControlUp experts for joint webinars and events.
One early customer, CIO Solutions, described its experience with the vendor and its approach to DEX and remote monitoring.
"We chose ControlUp because they have a forward-looking vision for what modern DEX solutions can and should deliver," said Eric Egolf, CEO, CIO Solutions. "The pace at which ControlUp adds useful and well-implemented features not found in other Remote Monitoring and management (RMM) platforms has been a breath of fresh air. More than just a vendor, ControlUp has been a true partner, something our previous RMM vendors never achieved. With ControlUp's all-in-one platform, we are seeing users as first-class citizens, supporting the work-from-home era, providing an AI-driven roadmap, enabling robust patching oversight, and offering a platform built for the future."
ControlUp said it will introduce ControlUp for MSPs globally through MSP-focused events, including regional partner summits and webinars across North America, EMEA and APAC.
