Blue Yonder unveils AI agents to transform supply chain speed

Today

Blue Yonder has announced new cognitive solutions and artificial intelligence agents designed to enhance speed and precision in supply chain management.

During the opening session of its annual customer conference, Blue Yonder Chief Executive Officer Duncan Angove presented the company's new suite of Cognitive Solutions and five central AI agents that support businesses in making faster and more accurate decisions throughout the supply chain.

Angove stated, "We are excited to launch our Blue Yonder AI agents that will revolutionize supply chain management. Built on over two decades of AI and machine learning expertise, these AI agents empower businesses to act with machine speed and precision, even in complex situations."

"These new agents are groundbreaking in their approach, and will transform some of the key functions in the supply chain. And they've been thoughtfully developed to help reduce waste and costs. They optimize the entire supply chain and enable faster, smarter decision-making. Together with our customers, we are setting new benchmarks for addressing supply chain challenges to move beyond boundaries."

Blue Yonder's Cognitive Solutions integrate AI technology to allow businesses to autonomously coordinate tasks, decisions and workflows across their entire supply chain.

These solutions are constructed on the Blue Yonder Platform and Snowflake AI Data Cloud and leverage a multi-enterprise network for end-to-end interoperability and unified decision processes. The company emphasises reimagined user experiences through predictive, generative, and agentic AI capabilities.

The Cognitive Solutions aim to help supply chain teams manage routine tasks more rapidly, analyse complex data efficiently, and move quickly from data insights to business actions. Additional details regarding these solutions are expected in further announcements.

The release also introduced five new AI agents developed through collaboration with Blue Yonder's customers.

These agents are engineered to give businesses the ability to detect, analyse, decide, and act at machine speed, with continuous optimisation supported by agentic AI within Blue Yonder's supply chain planning and execution applications.

Blue Yonder outlined key benefits of its AI agents, stating they enable increased impact and return on investment. The company reported that the agents transform management of operations by empowering more informed and timely decisions; recommendations made by AI agents can be swiftly automated with human approval. In addition, AI agents offer real-time alerts and a mobile user experience, allowing teams to take prompt action and prioritise critical developments.

The adaptive user experience allows team members to use the AI agents seamlessly whether they are in an office or onsite.

The system also enables advanced visualisation of supply chain data, supporting both granular and macro-level analysis for more efficient and effective supply chain management.

Among the five new agents are the Inventory Ops Agent, which assists planners in matching supply with demand, rapidly diagnosing root causes of mismatches, and recommending corrective measures such as alternate sourcing or demand swaps.

The Shelf Ops Agent permits users to quickly edit planograms using natural language instructions, while the Logistics Ops Agent monitors logistics activities, recommends route changes, and identifies ways to optimise costs, deliveries, and emissions.

The Warehouse Ops Agent is designed to support warehouse leaders by dynamically allocating labour, optimising layouts, identifying risks early to prevent delays, and improving service reliability. The Network Ops Agent allows businesses to monitor multi-enterprise supply chain operations, manage disruptions proactively, and automate tasks such as order confirmations and predictive updates.

Angove commented, "With more than 25 billion AI predictions being delivered every day, Blue Yonder is taking supply chains to the next level with our AI agents."

"The five new AI agents empower our customers to see, analyze, decide, and act, enabling them to respond swiftly to disruptions, minimize delays, uncover growth opportunities within their supply chain, and increase the return on investment in their solutions."

"At ICON 2025, we also demonstrated our new Tariffs Agent to help customers quickly find solutions and alternatives to minimize the negative impact on their organizations. All of these AI agents are transforming the way businesses manage their supply chains."

Blue Yonder has also introduced an Agent Activation Advisory service to support customers in deploying AI agents within six to twelve weeks.

This initiative includes collaboration with Microsoft's AI Co-Innovation Labs to address complex supply chain challenges. A partnership with Microsoft's Azure AI Foundry will offer an expanded platform for developing and managing AI applications and agents, featuring a suite of tools for secure data integration, model customisation, and governance.

The company further announced collaboration with Snowflake and RelationalAI to enhance its Cognitive Solutions using a supply chain knowledge graph. The knowledge graph records the structure of business relationships and processes in an accessible format, allowing for more intuitive engagement with data and improved reasoning by AI agents across the Blue Yonder Network ecosystem.

This knowledge graph aims to help customers navigate supply chain uncertainty, rapidly adjust to changes like sourcing new suppliers, and shift towards insight-driven management. The system integrates the strengths of Blue Yonder's platform with the Snowflake AI Data Cloud and RelationalAI's technology.
