Blackline Safety earns fourth spot on Deloitte Fast 500 list

Sat, 22nd Nov 2025

Blackline Safety has been included in the 2025 Deloitte Technology Fast 500, marking its fourth appearance in the annual ranking of rapidly expanding technology companies across North America.

Repeated recognition

The company, based in Calgary, supplies connected safety technology to industrial organisations. Its repeat recognition places it among a select group of only 114 Canadian companies, and just eight from Alberta, listed in the 2025 list. Blackline previously featured on the Fast 500 list in 2018, 2020, and 2021.

Blackline's 2025 Fast 500 ranking caps a year of strong performance and industry praise. The company's portfolio (which includes cloud-connected software, predictive analytics, wearable gas detectors, lone worker devices and the EXO 8 area monitor) continued to expand its market footprint across industrial sectors.

The EXO 8, in particular, drew significant attention in 2025, earning eight industry awards for innovation, simplicity, and its ability to transform how organisations detect and respond to hazardous conditions. The recognition further underscores Blackline's strategy of combining IoT-enabled safety devices with real-time data and analytics.

Industry acknowledgements

The company's continued presence on growth rankings extends beyond Deloitte's list. Blackline was recently named one of the Globe and Mail's Top Growing Companies for the seventh year in a row in 2025, underlining its performance in both revenue growth and high-profile industry accolades.

For Blackline Safety CEO and Chair Cody Slater, the ranking represents more than a financial achievement; it signals a more profound shift in how organisations think about the safety of their workforce.

"This recognition, and our continued growth, reflects the rising expectations among our customers worldwide for connected safety solutions," said Slater. "Our success is driven by a relentless focus on delivering technology that keeps workers connected and protected in real time, helping to ensure every worker gets home to their loved ones."

Product and market scope

Blackline's products are used in various industries, with its connected devices and predictive analytics designed to improve safety and operational performance. Its portfolio includes wearable technology, gas monitoring systems and cloud-connected software. The company reports that its technology is used by organisations in over 75 countries, integrating features such as cellular and satellite connectivity.

Blackline Safety has reported capturing more than 300 billion data points and initiating over eight million emergency alerts since launching its services. Its devices aim to support companies targeting zero safety incidents and improved productivity in industrial operations.

Growth benchmarks

The Technology Fast 500 list - now in its 31st year - is considered one of North America's most credible barometers of innovation and growth. From industrial IoT to life sciences, fintech, cybersecurity, and next-generation hardware, the ranking highlights companies that pair strong revenue expansion with meaningful technological impact.
