Alteryx unveils revamped Academy to boost AI skills

Wed, 18th Mar 2026

Alteryx has launched an updated version of its Academy training platform, adding personalised learning pathways, a redesigned interface, and a new credentials programme for professionals working with AI and analytics.

Alteryx positioned the refreshed Academy as a single destination for training content, credentials, and learning resources. The update is part of a broader push to support its user base as AI tools become more common in analytics roles.

The company cited research suggesting that 90% of analysts believe AI will support their career growth, linking the update to shifting skills requirements as organisations adopt AI-assisted workflows.

One learning hub

The redesigned Academy brings learning materials and credential tracking into one connected environment, with faster navigation and a more intuitive layout. It also offers guided learning routes based on users' goals and skill levels.

The Academy includes structured pathways for different experience levels, from newcomers to advanced users. It also introduces a modernised credentials programme, described as a secure way for users to validate their expertise in Alteryx and data analytics.

Alteryx said it has a global community of more than 750,000 members and described the Academy as central to engagement with that community and its wider customer base.

Training focus

Bill Tabbit-Humphrey, Chief Customer Officer at Alteryx, said the updated Academy reflects the need for continuous learning as AI and analytics practices evolve.

"At Alteryx, we know that empowering our customers and community with the right skills is key to accelerating time to value and driving real impact. Continuous learning isn't just a nice to have, it's essential in today's fast-moving AI and analytics landscape. The new Alteryx Academy is designed to make upskilling intuitive and engaging, helping everyone from beginners to experts gain the confidence and knowledge they need to succeed. By prioritizing continuous learning, we're helping the Alteryx community build practical, in-demand analytics skills that drive real impact in their roles and across their organizations."

The update reflects a wider trend among analytics software vendors to offer training and certification as part of their product ecosystems. Skills frameworks and credentials have become more prominent as employers look for evidence of capability in data preparation, modelling, and automated reporting, alongside familiarity with AI tools.

Alteryx said the refreshed Academy provides guided experiences tailored to individual interests and needs. It combines content discovery, progress tracking, and credential management in one place, rather than spreading learning across multiple pages or systems.

Pilot feedback

Kenda Sanderson, an actuary at MedPro Group who took part in the pilot programme, highlighted the mix of instructor-led and self-paced options.

"I'm delighted to see what the updated trainings will deliver as the Alteryx Academy continues to evolve," Sanderson said. "Combining instructor-led learning with flexible, self-paced content creates a strong foundation for building practical analytics skills and helps teams apply what they learn more quickly in real-world environments."

Alteryx also outlined planned additions this year, including new premium hands-on courses. Free foundational learning will remain available to all users, with learners continuing to access material at their own pace.

Select in-person learning opportunities will also be offered at Alteryx Inspire, the company's user event, as another option for hands-on training within its global analytics community.

Alteryx said it has more than 8,000 customers worldwide, with users applying its software to automate analytics processes and manage business performance. Further releases are planned, including additional premium courses and expanded in-person options during 2026.
