Aircall buys Piper AI to boost sales workflow automation

Fri, 5th Jun 2026 (Today)

Aircall has acquired Piper AI, broadening its reach from customer communications into sales workflow automation.

The acquisition adds tools that track sales activity across calls, video meetings, email, text messaging, WhatsApp and field activity. Piper AI converts those interactions into CRM updates, deal scoring, pipeline risk signals and automated follow-up actions.

The deal combines Aircall's communications software with Piper AI's revenue intelligence products. Aircall says its platform is used by more than 23,000 businesses and supports voice, SMS and WhatsApp interactions for sales and support teams.

At the centre of the transaction is a push to connect customer conversations more directly to sales execution. Aircall's existing AI Assist products already provide account briefs before calls, live prompts during conversations, and post-call summaries and follow-up drafts.

Piper AI extends that approach beyond calls. Its software is designed to capture sales signals across a broader set of communications and update records without requiring staff to enter information manually.

According to Aircall, customers using Piper AI have reduced total CRM data-entry time by more than 50% within the first month. Customers also reported a 50% improvement in forecast accuracy.

Sales focus

The acquisition reflects a broader push by software companies to embed artificial intelligence into sales operations rather than limit it to note-taking and call summaries. Aircall is seeking to link communication channels with deal tracking and workflow management in a single system.

That matters because sales activity often spans multiple interactions over several weeks. Calls, follow-up emails, meetings and messages can all influence whether a deal progresses, but many of those signals sit outside standard pipeline reporting unless staff record them manually.

Aircall says Piper AI addresses that problem by capturing engagement data across the life of a deal and turning it into structured information. It also supports qualification methods such as MEDDIC, BANT and SPICED across touchpoints beyond voice calls.

Piper AI also includes a workflow engine that can trigger alerts, route handoffs, generate pre-meeting briefs and carry out scheduled next steps when deal conditions change. Aircall says this allows sales teams to act on pipeline changes without waiting for a representative to launch each task manually.

European team

Piper AI's team, based in Spain, will join Aircall, which was founded in Paris. Aircall says the combination strengthens its investment in European AI talent while supporting a global customer base.

Aircall says it has passed USD $200 million in annual recurring revenue and serves customer-facing teams in more than 100 countries. Its software also connects with more than 250 native integrations.

Scott Chancellor, Chief Executive Officer of Aircall, outlined the rationale for the acquisition.

"Aircall has always focused on helping teams have better conversations with customers. AI Assist Pro already guides reps before, during, and after every conversation across voice, SMS, and WhatsApp. With Piper, we are taking the next step: connecting those conversations to the pipeline signals, deal intelligence, and automated workflows that close revenue. That is where AI becomes truly valuable for sales teams - not when it stops at a summary, but when it turns every customer interaction into action, pipeline clarity, and time back for reps to sell," Chancellor said.

Rodrigo Burillo of Piper AI also commented on the combination.

"We built Piper around a simple belief: that customer conversations are the blueprint for revenue, but their value shouldn't end in a summary. Every interaction across every channel reveals how deals are actually won. Joining Aircall lets us bring that intelligence to sales teams already running the world's leading AI-powered communications platform. Together, we turn every interaction into action, keeping every deal moving forward," Burillo said.
