SUSE Rancher for AWS launches with built-in AI & cost controls

Sat, 6th Dec 2025

SUSE has launched SUSE Rancher for AWS in AWS Marketplace. The product gives customers a unified way to manage, secure and observe workloads running on Amazon Elastic Kubernetes Service (EKS).

The solution integrates with Amazon Web Services technologies. It works with tools such as Amazon Q and Amazon Bedrock. This connection supports management and scaling of cloud native container workloads on AWS.

SUSE designed Rancher for AWS to address growing demand for enterprise AI infrastructure. The company provides features that allow organisations to manage AI workloads and standardise operations across their AWS environments.

Integrated AI Support

The new offering includes a built-in AI Assistant. The Assistant uses Amazon Q and Amazon Bedrock. It provides real-time insights, workflow guidance and recommendations for troubleshooting within the Rancher Manager interface. Teams can detect issues more quickly and connect daily operations with security and compliance standards.

Unified controls allow IT teams to keep policies and access management consistent. They can enforce governance across multiple Amazon EKS clusters. The interface establishes a single view for policy enforcement and simplifies lifecycle management. This structure intends to reduce tool sprawl and technical debt.

Cost and Observability

SUSE Rancher for AWS offers tools for visibility and resource usage. It supports cost management through SUSE Observability and spot instance optimisation. This approach assists businesses in managing expenses as they run containerised workloads in the cloud.

SUSE has previously introduced features targeting AI readiness. These include the launch of SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 16 and the announcement of AI-focused add-ons for its platforms.

Pete Smails, Senior Vice President and General Manager, Cloud Native at SUSE, highlighted the company's focus on simplifying platform management.

"SUSE Rancher for AWS delivers more than just operational efficiency; it gives customers compounding value from their AWS services. We are simplifying the complexity of modern platforms, ensuring customers can easily build, manage, and scale their most demanding AI workloads, turning today's challenges into tomorrow's strategic opportunities," said Peter Smails, SVP, General Manager, Cloud Native, SUSE.

SUSE holds triple AWS Competency status. This recognises technical expertise and customer implementations in the AWS ecosystem. The new release extends the company's approach to managing cloud native infrastructure on AWS.

SUSE plans to continue integrating new AI features and controls into its container management platforms. The company is working closely with AWS as organisations seek to run critical workloads in cloud environments.
