Identity Digital has named its Chief Revenue Officer, Matt Overman, to CRN's 2026 Channel Chiefs list, which recognises executives who lead partner strategy across the IT channel.
CRN publishes the annual list as part of its coverage of the partner ecosystem. The programme highlights senior leaders responsible for channel programmes, alliances and routes to market through resellers, service providers and platform partners.
Overman oversees sales and registry growth at Identity Digital and manages a partner network of more than 500 organisations, including domain registrars, website builders and SaaS platforms.
Identity Digital operates in domain name infrastructure and related services. It runs a registry services platform, owns registrar Name.com, and sells and manages top-level domains including .fyi, .llc, .pro and .ai.
Identity Digital framed the CRN recognition as validation of its partner focus as businesses and consumers place greater emphasis on digital identity and ownership. It also tied its partner work to growing demand for integrated domain services within software platforms used by small businesses and creators.
Partner programmes
In a statement, Overman outlined his approach to partner engagement and product change in the domain industry.
"My philosophy is centered on building scalable programs that reward partners who are agile, data-driven, and committed to the end-user experience," said Matt Overman, Chief Revenue Officer, Identity Digital. "We are moving past the era of stagnant domain interfaces. By integrating AI-powered innovation and modern APIs, we are helping partners eliminate friction, increase customer stickiness, and build sustainable success in a rapidly evolving digital ecosystem."
Identity Digital's channel relationships span domain registration, search and management. Partners can integrate domain search, registration and DNS management into their own services through the Name.com API, keeping domain workflows inside their products instead of sending customers to external systems.
The company also works with large hosting and domain brands. The announcement cited GoDaddy as a partner, with a focus on small and medium-sized business customers and brand users of its platform.
Paul Bindel, President of Business Operations at GoDaddy, described the partnership in terms of customer experience and retention.
"Our partnership with Identity Digital empowers our SMB and brand customers to own and strengthen their customer relationships," said Paul Bindel, President of Business Operations, GoDaddy. "We're delivering a seamless and hyper-relevant domain experience that enables GoDaddy customers to stay within the ecosystem, reducing friction while driving long-term value and retention. Digital infrastructure should work invisibly so businesses can focus on growth."
Registry focus
Beyond its registrar operations, Identity Digital provides registry services for country-code, generic and dotBrand top-level domains. Registry service providers run the back-end systems that allow domain names to be issued and managed, and handle operational functions related to the stability and administration of a top-level domain.
Identity Digital said its infrastructure is designed to simplify the management and monetisation of top-level domains and reduce operating costs for registry operators. It also said it works with organisations seeking to grow adoption of specific domain extensions.
Identity Digital also described itself as a pre-approved Registry Service Provider for ICANN's next application round for new top-level domains. ICANN runs the process that evaluates applications for new domain extensions. Pre-approval as an RSP indicates a provider has met certain requirements in advance, which can influence how applicants plan their technical operations.
The announcement comes as the domain name market shifts from a narrow focus on traditional extensions to a broader set of use cases, including branded domains, short-form naming and industry-specific domains, alongside increased interest in the infrastructure behind online identity and authentication.
Identity Digital said it supports more than 28 million domains on its registry services platform. The company is headquartered in Bellevue, Washington, and said it employs around 250 people globally.
CRN is a media brand of The Channel Company and covers channel business models and partner strategies for IT suppliers and service providers, including systems integrators, resellers and managed service providers.
